Art of Perception Vol 3
Good music, good people, and great art is what the Art of Perception show is all about. We sat down with DeAnthony Dulaney to briefly talk about how this event has grown over the past few years and what are his expectations for this unique showcase of artists in the future.
Q. What is the difference between previous art shows and this one?
A. “This particular one we’ve homed in to a certain demographic in the art scene, and it really has been just major love from artist. It's like the ones that missed the first two shows they all wanted to be apart of this one, so it’s a higher level of response within the art community itself.”
Q. Did the Art of Perception vol 3 exceed your expectations?
A. “It did. It really took me by surprise. I pulled up late like I always do and to see all the people enjoying the event was definitely refreshing.”
Q. What's the theme behind this event and what's the reason or purpose behind it?
A. “The theme is The Culture, and the reason behind it is simply because art is culture, point-blank-period. It's not just black culture or hip hop culture but it's the culture of expressing oneself; that's something we have been trying to bring to Mobile for a while, is the culture.”
Q. What are some things that you are looking to do in the future?
A. “We are going to start doing more shows and more projects for the youth and teens. Some things that I have been working on specifically is organizing a Drink and Draw event where people can come out and have drinks while they create their masterpieces. Basically, I just want to keep creating fun and exciting events centered around art.”
We have had the privilege of previously attending this art show and have never been disappointed. The variety of pieces and artists is commendable.
